It’s never too soon to start leaving tips around the home about what you’d fancy seeing under the tree. So I think another whistle is in order. I have decided to move into the $20-60 range. However, I’m not sure what to pine after. A trip through whistle&drum.com and everything is making me drool all over my keyboard or go at the price tag. Freeman’s tweeked whistles (which are all back ordered) and Tony Dixon’s caught my eye. And I recall someone here recommending a Hoover white cap. Thoughts?
Well, I am not a lot more experienced than you, but Parks Whistles are what I am hoping for… but then again, I want a whistle that I can make as quiet as possible.
I’ll take a table-top lathe (and a decent assortment of tools) for whistlesmithing. Unfortunately, with the economy like it is and a daughter in college, it isn’t going to happen this year.
Right. Our daughter went to college about 10 miles from one of the Grizzly machine tool showrooms. So, every semester we’d drop her off with a pile of her stuff and the vehicle would be empty on the way home - unless we stopped at Grizzly. Dangerous!
There’s a milling machine on my list for Santa - again. Our daughter graduated last year, so I have a better chance of seeing world peace this season instead. Not a bad trade-off actually.
