All I want for Christmas...

It’s never too soon to start leaving tips around the home about what you’d fancy seeing under the tree. So I think another whistle is in order. I have decided to move into the $20-60 range. However, I’m not sure what to pine after. A trip through whistle&drum.com and everything is making me drool all over my keyboard or go :open_mouth: at the price tag. Freeman’s tweeked whistles (which are all back ordered) and Tony Dixon’s caught my eye. And I recall someone here recommending a Hoover white cap. Thoughts?

Well, I am not a lot more experienced than you, but Parks Whistles are what I am hoping for… but then again, I want a whistle that I can make as quiet as possible.

SkipJack, if Jerry’s whistles end up on top of your list, you might have better luck ordering directly from him than going through a store.

I think you need to tell Father Christmas that you need Jerrry Freeman’s ‘Mellow Dog’ C/D set.

I want a narrow brass Burke.

I want world peace.

You must be a descendant of Aristotle for making such wise advice.

A Chris Abell C/D set. But I don’t expect to get it unless there really is a Santa Claus.

A Parks walk about set D/C…so I can play quietly–and learn how to not squak in the upper octave.

Please Santa???

I want a Burke Viper so I can use it to promote world peace.

So your music will promote peace or so that you can use it as a weapon against anyone who threatens peace?

Bill

I hate whirled peas.

Um, is this a strict either/or? I like to keep my options open.

Ah, a Teddy Roosevelt fan .

Bill

Walk softly and carry a big low D.

I’ll take a table-top lathe (and a decent assortment of tools) for whistlesmithing. Unfortunately, with the economy like it is and a daughter in college, it isn’t going to happen this year.

After visiting Sagamore Hill, I too am a Teddy Roosevelt convert…

Philo :poke:

Right. :frowning: Our daughter went to college about 10 miles from one of the Grizzly machine tool showrooms. So, every semester we’d drop her off with a pile of her stuff and the vehicle would be empty on the way home - unless we stopped at Grizzly. Dangerous!

There’s a milling machine on my list for Santa - again. Our daughter graduated last year, so I have a better chance of seeing world peace this season instead. Not a bad trade-off actually.

Want a custom mini-mill? I have been procrastinating, but I intend to put it up for sale sometime soon. Lots of stuff with it, too. PM me if you do…

Was this the mill you were using to make Whistles?
