Addicting Game (that I'm terrible at)

Help the drunk get home:

First try: 59 meters.

Well, I sure can’t understand that. I tried probably 10 times and never got above 3 meters and I think he would have gotten that far had I been doing nothing at all.

Oh, I just tried it again and I got what to do. I kept him up for 14 meters. I think that will probably satisfy me  . Let him sleep it off.

41 Meters. I decided he (and I) was better off with him on the ground.

First try 75 metres! Does it mean I’m a genious?

How can apply this skill to my flute playing?

2nd try 93 metres!

My flute playing has not improved though!

Shouldn’t that be “addictive”?

I got 82 meters.
I did try maybe 20 times though. Got 80 meters on the 3rd or 4th try and as they said the record was 82 I couldn’t stop at 80.

That’s an interesting question and I haven’t been able to find anything very reliable about it----not meaning to imply, of course, that you are not reliable  , just seeking second opinions so to speak. One place I looked said something about the verbs addicts and addicting being used in the US only.

I am definitely confused. I have heard the sentence “He has an addictive personality.”, meaning the person tended to become addicted to substances. And I’ve certainly heard of heroin being described as an addictive drug. So then it seems that there isn’t a distinction between what is causing the addiction and who is becoming addicted. So if you said “He has an addictive personality.” then it could either be someone who tends to become addicted to something or someone who causes others to become addicted to him—which is a meaning one could want to convey even if it does sound crazy. If “addicting” can be used, and I have no idea what the heck is going on with it, then a drug or game could be addicting—they cause addiction in people—and people with addictive personalities should not play them.

But then I’ve heard the phrase “addictive behavior”, which doesn’t seem to match the meanings. I guess it is behavior which can lead to addiction or that is a sign of addiction (which seems like it would be better called a symptom of addiction). So that would be sort of like a drug, I guess, but I’ve never heard the phrase “addicting behavior” used. Or it is behavior that can lead to addiction,

Not really seeking to make any points here, just thought it was interesting and I’d never thought about the usage before.

Addictive, Addicting…

Potato Potahto…

Let the bum sleep it off in the alley.

Been preparing for a game like this all my life. Nothing like a few miles of real life practice to develop a sense of balance under the influence  .

101m on 2nd try. Best of 118m.
