“48 key Lachenal English Concertina”.
But it’s clearly not an English system concertina. Or Anglo. From the button layout and straps I’m guessing some kind of Duet?
Since 48 buttons is standard for English system, the description could be a bit deceptive, though perhaps inadvertently.
Definitely a Duet. I think the Lachenal’'s use the McCann layout, but don’t quote me.
I’m not sure either. My Wheatstone Maccann duet has 6 buttons per row, not 5, so I was hesitant to say Maccann.
Good observation. Likely a brass-reeded Crane / Triumph duet. This could possibly cost more to restore than it will then be worth in today’s market. Might be a good hobbyist project if you do not count the value of your time. A brass-reeded Crane duet can be a decent instrument to back up a singer, but there are much more responsive instruments available that might be better long-term value.
