Someone recently asked me if I could put together a simple tutorial for learning ABC music notation.
The ABC Notation Tutor provides 15 short, progressive lessons covering the basics of ABC, including notes and rhythms, keys, repeats and endings, chord symbols, decorations, lyrics, and multiple voices.
Each lesson includes a working ABC example, rendered notation, playback, explanatory notes, an interactive walkthrough, and a short quiz to check what you’ve learned. You can also edit the ABC examples yourself and immediately see and hear the results.
