I tried for a while to get these things intop my spam blocker but gave up in disgust. The nasty little buggerers just keep changing.
This is from my spam filter’s word list. I use a bayesian filter (bogofilter) and you have to feed it spam so it can generate a collection of words.

Okay, I’ve had enough. There’s probably over three times that in the wordlist, though.
Anybody that is on Juno should be checking their email on the web and using their “Report Junk” mail function. We used to get 10 times as many junk emails as regular. We have been reporting our junk now for a few months and it has all but stopped.
I did have an incident last night with an eBay email. I have a couple of transactions going through on the selling side and responded too quickly to it. I realized it MIGHT have been a bogus and immediately cancelled my credit card and changed my eBay password.
Oh well, I did not like that credit card number anyway.
Are you guys still getting Viagra spam? My spammers have switched to Ci@llis long ago! ![]()
I like the porno soundtrack music on Cialis tv commercials. It cracks me up, everytime. The only spam I got for any of that stuff was when I maintained a hotmail account for Instant Messaging. FWIW, Yahoo SBC DSL filters it all out, seemingly.
I’m very impressed with the quality of the spam filter on the newer Netscape and Mozilla email clients, just FYI. It’s a “training” system: for the first few days you have to click on the “junk” button once for each spam mail; then it learns and goes on automatic mode (you can set it to send all suspected spam to its own folder and delete it after 14 days). We’ve been using it at home for a few months, and there’s been very little that goes through, and virtually no false positives.

Well that’s right, but after a certain time (half a year) there are coming more and more again!
Apparently the Ci@llis spammers go on longer.
Spam was the first place I ever heard of c-i-a-|-i-5
I personally am touched that all of these people are so concerned with the size of my penis, and it’s proper functioning… ![]()
I have to say the same thing about bogofilter – it’s made email useful again. A whitelist + Bayesian filter is the best way to go.
BTW, how much spam do you get? I get about 200 pieces of spam per day and bogofilter runs at about 90% effectivness (so about 20 per day get through).
For anyone interested in bayesian spam filters (which is what all the ‘training’ ones are), this is a must-read:
http://www.paulgraham.com/spam.html
This is the paper that resulted in most of the current bayesian filters.
I wonder, though. Do I really need larger breasts?
In a word, Yes! The END OF THE WORLD is fast approaching and when famine strikes, you’ll welcome every bit of stored fat that you can squirrel away now.
I wonder, though. Do I really need larger breasts?
My breasts are large enough, thank you very much. ![]()
I’ve been noticing a new kind of spam that’s probably an attempt to go around the bayesian filters: these are emails that have a lot of “non-spam” content. For example: 1 page of spam-related links followed by 10 or 20 pages of jokes.
I like Spamcop, and it seems to work to a certain extent. When the volume of spam that gets past Yahoo’s filters starts being enough to annoy me, i start a 100% spamcop reporting policy. Usually this cuts down the volume of spam significantly after a few days of reporting. There is ome evidence, though, that the ISPs that work with the spammers are using spamcop reports to get rid of the troublesome addresses (the people who report) while keeping the others. But at least you feel like you’re doing something.
The next level of spammers are going to be using compromised home computers with high-speed Internet connections to send spam that’s going to be almost impossible to filter. You can buy lists of these zombie computers in the black market; i heard the going rate is a thousand dollars for 500 zombies…

Yet another reason why broadband in the home is evil.
I wish they would realize, we don’t need no stinkin’ v1agra. Nor any of that other misspelled stuff.
You don’t see whistle spam out there, I’m trying to imagine what a spammer would say regarding wh1stl*s.
