In my quest for good tuning I’ve been fiddling with my reed and decided to ask the maker for a new one. Turns out, this new one plays almost exactly the same way. The bottom notes on the first octave are sharp. D, E, F #, G, A. With some tape, they come in nicely but it mellows out the low hand considerably. What’s the deal? Is it the reeds, the chanter, or my anal retentiveness? 
How about carving?
Who is the maker?The chanter should really go back to the w/s so that a suitable reed can be made for it or the chanter rectified.Do not even think of carving yet
