…was in Albaquerque, NM the weekend before last. Fantastic program they had this year. If anyone ever has the chance to sit down with Eliot Grasso, don’t pass the opportunity by. Eliot was a very articulate individual and a fantastic teacher. Just because someone can play well doesn’t always mean they can teach it to others but Mr. Grasso was a fine player with a (seemingly) well-developed pedagogy and a skill for teaching. He played whistle, flute and pipes throughout the weekend and was a fine player on each instrument. Needless to say, I got my money’s worth… and then some.
