I wanted to send a private message to a C&F member and clicked on the private messages, well, low and behold I had 2 waiting for me! I didn’t know it worked that way, so if you haven’t checked you messages, do so now!

A quick way to check if you have messages is to use the “login” in the upper right. After you log in, not only will you not need to put in your password to post, but if you have any messages waiting there will be a line in that upper right area telling you about them.
If you’ve never gotten a PM you can send yourself one to see how they look when they arrive. Just put your own name in the recipient line.

I received a couple of private messages a couple of weeks back and also had to be told about the existence of that facility in an on-board post. In one case that was fine but in the other it might have been hard to do without embarrassing someone else. (No it wasn’t a polite warning about my bad breath, and no I’m not going to tell you.) Perhaps it would be a good idea to make the existence of this facility more obvious to those of us who just start posting without fully digesting the information in the FAQs section. Would I be wrong to think that that’s most of us?

I knew about them, but only because I’ve been on other boards that had them. Heh…I had to be told about my first one as well.
Kind of embarrassing when someone is approaching you for a date (That you like) and you don’t see her letter for three months.
