I think this is a cool idea:
That is a cool idea! I wonder if they would call them Yodel’s in Switzerland?

Yes, this is badly needed. I was really excited about it when I heard about the cabins like these available in the Honolulu airport (I think that’s where they are). I have spent many an extended duration in airports and would have loved to have had access to something like this.
However, I don’t consider $70 (40 pbs) necessarily affordable. This is the only disappointing part. For 4 hours, I’d think $20-$25 would be more appropriate. Since these are based upon First Class cabins, they maybe need to design one based upon economy class for us proletarians (proletarii?). These would be the “protels”.
Wait,
“Cabins will be bookable in blocks of four hours”
“Double rotating beds”
“Aircraft cabin mood lighting”
… sounds like a place for Flight Attendant booty calls.
Albiet, rather lengthy booty calls.
They’ve had hourly rate hotels in NYs Times Square for ages. In fact, I think that’s where the term HO-tel comes from… ![]()
4hr bookings for cost, convenience & efficiency…
Yeah, uh huh, sure! ![]()
That’s what they said about the “newfandangled” way of charging hourly rates at some hotels in LA near the airports about thirty or forty years ago…
Guess who uses those hotels now! ![]()
My first thought. There’s so little privacy in an airport. They needed something for the quick tryst. ![]()
I bet they become a fashionable “cruising” destination. I think they call it something else in England.
