Just got an e-mail from the Xaphoon people ( I have one of their pocket saxes, which I like quite a bit for a change of pace).
They are offering a limited edition plastic sax in translucent cobalt blue for previous customers ( they might be persuaded to part with one for others too – who knows..). They also have a new instructional DVD which includes a segment on how the bamboo Xaphoons are made. Check out www.xaphoon.com
What differences are there between the bamboo and the plastic in terms of sound etc?
Others have mentioned the close finger spacings, is the Bflat any better ( I can’t play a F Generation)?
Is the bamboo stable over time or liable to cracking/change of pitch etc?
