i am looking for a (used) flute that i can learn on. i am asking for around 300 us$.
As much as i want a wooden flute, i can see that durability is more important at this point in time. 8(
if anyone has any information it would be very helpful.

Maybe for 60 bucks or so you should consider a PVC Tipple flute. They are really something. Though I have been playing flutes for over thirty years I find there is something therapeutic about my newly acquired Tipple flutes, especially the Eb. I find my playing of all my other flutes improves after playing a Tipple.
I would recommend Tipple to any new or old beginner like myself. 
See if Michael Cronnolly is still offering his sale to C & Fers on his Rudalls. For $350 or so it’s an absolute no-brainer.
