This should be interesting.
Heh heh. ![]()

Woah. This new format is a bit disorienting.
Of course I’ll adjust. I just wanted to whine a bit.
The minnow has been lost!
That little enigma was one of the pillars of C&F.
Sic transit gloria interneti.
Or something like that.

Logging in and posting is not yet flawless, had some problems and internal server errors (500) but nothing major.
edited to add:
Well, I just edited a post and had to enter it five times to get through the errors.
I see that editing notification isn’t operative.
That’s really sad. I’m not sure I’ll be able to post now…
But then again, I can now type in PINK at just the click of a mouse. That may just make up for it ![]()
It may not be flawless. We moved from one server with a hosting company to another server at the same company. The database is getting pretty large and we may need to migrate to a different hosting company at some point, or I may have to see if there’s an upgrade of service I can do … or something.
Let’s see how it goes for awhile.
I have always wondered how big this forum is getting. Where do you get the space?
Maybe Dale has somehow tapped into the Crystal People’s Databa^C ### TRANSMISSION HALTED ###
800,000+ posts.
It’s wiggin’ me man…
Purple type, otoh…not so bad.
Help…where’s me avatar??
This is fancy.
I gotta go flesh out my profile now, I suppose.
Are you going to have training sessions? I think we should have some. Evenings are best for me, ok?
Meanwhile, I’ll just experiment. You can learn a lot from that, although I still think training sessions would be good.
Things I like about the new version so far:
On the pages which list the topics, you can easily see which
topics you have responded to, because they have a little black
dot on the top-left of the topic’s icon, as such:

If you know you’re going to want to refer back to a topic later,
you can bookmark it. Just under the Post Reply button on a
topic, there is a link called “Bookmark Topic”. If you click on it,
the topic will be stored under your profile. To see the topics
you have bookmarked, go to “User Control Panel” (that link is
at the top right of almost every page) and look under Overview
for a link called “Manage Bookmarks”. (If it’s not there, you may
have to click on Overview to expand it.) The Manage Bookmarks
page will show all the topics you’ve bookmarked. Pretty sweet.
The Friends and Foes function in the User control panel is an interesting feature.
You can keep track of friends, and ignore the posts of the people you set as foes.
Self moderation is probably a good thing.

Greetings to the new C&F!
Hmmm, this is interesting. I’m just glad it’s back… ![]()
