wood type question (usable or not?)

would it be possible to use a burlwood or a curly wood type for a flute.
if so what type of wood could be used and does anybody know of good resources …I do sure like the looks of the burlwoods and it would make something real special.
if not suitable, why not?

flutemakers’ would do anything to get figured boxwood to make thir flutes from.

Doesn’t Casey Burns have flutes available in curly boxwood?

Yes, he does and I have one. Great looking flute and nice to play. Check out Casey’s site – http://www.caseyburnsflutes.com/
