Willie's return to Miltown : statue unveiled

Whistle

I have posted a thread on the subject here on the piping forum (with more pictures & links) but I think it bears repeating here, as the subject was one of the finest whistle players I can think of.

Last saturday a statue by sculptor Shane Gilmore was unveiled, by piper Liam O Flynn, in Miltown Malbay, Co Clare of musician Willie Clancy. The sculpture was donated to the people of Clare by Barry and Judith Merrill.

Thank you for sharing photos with the whistling crowd. A little sunlight makes for a happy moment.

It makes all the difference, Tueday was pretty nice. So I went back and re-shot some of the images already posted on the piping forum.
