Just got notification that Whistleshop has shipped my Silkstone Low D… Successfully ordered some Laughing Whistles. What’s next, Burke finally acknowledging my order or my subsequent request to cancel it, because I could probably get it sooner from someone who had it in stock?
I don’t know if I can handle all of this. Is it possible to OD?
O.D.?- Tell me about it!
I received a set of Humphrey whistles last Friday- ‘Stealth’ head, plus ‘D’ and ‘Eb’ tubes in both ‘Just’ and Equal’ tunings.
They are absolutely BRILLIANT!
AND NOW- Paul Busman (gentleman that he is) has E-mailed me to let me know that a Tulipwood whistle is on it’s way to me,and he reckons that it’s a BEAUTY! .
April is turning out to be a great whistling month for me!
I ordered a B whistle eleven months ago. On monday the package arrived. There was a D in it and I haven’t heard back from the maker after I sent him an e-mail.
and before you start: the D has found a good home down the road
Thats alot of whistles. I just ordered a Generation D, Eb, and Bb, to go along with my Sweetone D and C. I would like to get some higher end whistles, but just cant commit right now. I want to get a flute first.
Never tried a silkstone low D, though I quite liked my high D/C set. And enjoy the Laughing whistles! What keys did you get? Be sure to let me know if you find they’re not to your liking…
Looks like I called it, partially. My ordered-then-cancelled Burke composite narrow-bore D arrived yesterday. I don’t regret it. I ordered it at the same time as the silkstone narrow bore D, expecting them to be roughly equivalent. The Burke is actually considerably louder and sounds completely different. I was hoping for a quiet whistle when I ordered these, and the silkstone is that and more. I’d call the burke medium, and the playability of both is comparable.
OK, I am ordering no more. Once the laughings are here, I am done!!
