STORM WARNING!!!

I just happen to have the liner notes in front of me! The whistler on “Thirsty Work” (The Coalminer/Speed the Plough/The Rainy Day) is Kathleen Keane. The note on this piece says “Three of Kathleen’s favourite reels to play - guaranteed to wet your whistle!”

Yeah, that’s Kathleen. What’s really disgusting, of course, is that Kathleen is their FIDDLE player! It’s just not fair that such a talented fiddle player can play the whistle so well too…not to mention she’s incredibly beautiful to boot (I think she puts Andrea Corr to shame but I’m a woman so I don’t know what the guys think). And if you haven’t seen Gaelic Storm in concert, you should definitely see them - it’s a fun evening!

i agree, it is not fair that a fiddle player can play the whistle that well. and you say is beautiful too? is she married? i couldn’t find any pics.

I vote for Kathleen over the Corr girls, too! To quote another song by Gaelic Storm (She Was the Prize) “Shiny black hair and those lovely, those lovely brown eyes.” (except I think her eyes are blue) Put her at least near the top of my list of loveliest whistlers!

that’s all well and good, but you haven’t sent me any pics of her !

What happened to the chick on the Gaelic Storm CD? Samantha, or something? And why hasn’t Brass_Blower posted pics yet?

I’d love to, but I don’t have a scanner and there isn’t a picture of her on the Gaelic Storm Website yet (www.gaelicstorm.com), even though they promise to have one soon!

“Rock & Reel is here to stay!”

well that is bad.. because i want to see photos! a beautiful women who plays, not one, but two instruments flawlessly - and one of those instruments being the whistle-are you sure she isn’t single?

Jonathon,

Bloomfield -
Samantha left Gaelic Storm a couple of years ago, I don’t know the circumstances. Kathleen replaced her.

Kathleen also plays button accordion, sings (Mary’s Eyes and Walk Through My Door on “Tree”) and step-dances. As I said before, absolutely disgusting. Oh, and she can hold her Guinness too (after all, it is thirsty work!)

Sorry, don’t have a pic or know if she’s single …
