Who made this whistle/flute? Any help please?

HI, very sorry…I know this is a flute…but…it looks to me as if made by a someone who’s predominantly a whistlemaker. Polished ally tube with a turned hardwood mouthpiece (looks like rosewood to me but it’s tricky and I’m no expert)

Very nice thick leather case

I can’t find any references to the ‘W’ stamp on the net, and yes, I have tried

So if any of you good people have any info on this flute it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Thanks for looking.

The logo somehow says ‘Wilkinson sword’ but I may be wrong there.

You might try taking out the stopper and seeing if something is written inside the tube. It looks to be fairly high quality and the case seems of good quality, too… How does it play? Is it a fife (i.e. in Bb) or a piccolo (i.e. in C or D) - hard to tell from the picture.

The ‘W’ logo withstanding it looks to me like something Davie Angus would make, might be worth sending the pics to him?

David Angus has been contacted…it wasn’t him
Has anyone else got a suggestion?

Okay, was just an idea

I have seen a couple of flutes with a similar mouthpiece fitted to silver or nickle tube. Crossett and Cliffy Rea flutes spring to mind.
