Who knew?

Cloves and cinnamon in beer? They should have called it bodhran…

Yeah. Who knew?

I’m eager to play the tune on the label, just as soon as someone can tell me how to handle the, er, EB clef. :stuck_out_tongue:

I was also going to ask, what’s a Wiezen? But Feadoggie, I see you found a corrected label for your new avatar.

Wiezen and witbier are fine stuff, especially during the hot months of the year. The yeast strain usually depicts the characteristic banana and clove flavors while other adjuncts such as seeds of paradise, fruit zest (generally bitter and/or sweet orange), coriander seed, and other ingredients further bolster the flavors. It’s a bit of unusual blend of malts they used as both styles are traditionally wheat based (either full or mostly). One of my favorite home brews to make

Well, my snark was that the German word for wheat is Weizen (not Wiezen), and Hefeweizen is “yeast-wheat”. You can be forgiven, Alex, but not the company that gets it wrong on their own label and website.

Bad spellers of the world, untie!

If they’re like me, they’d call their beer Pennywhislte.

Or Geezer’s Delight.

Just don’t have a few too many when making my pennywhistle. :really:

Thanks MTG.

Yep. I noticed the use of the wiezen spelling too as well as the EB clef. I also pondered the playability of the whistle as it is pictured on the label. But hey, it’s beer and it’s called Pennywhistle. Couldn’t pass that up, warts included.

Feadoggie

You sure it’s not a mirrored BB?

Oh thanks, that’s a big help. :poke:

Well, either way… yet you cannot go wrong with…

And I’ll provide the whistling. :astonished: cheers.

Has anyone here had a taste of this brew yet?

You may want to try this one as well:

And I probably shouldn’t even go here:

Did Salvador Dali draw that whistle? The Persistence of Melody?

Ooh, good one.

You use their logo as your avatar and you haven’t even tasted their beer??? What if it tastes like doggie-doo? There’s a witty play on “feadoggie” here somewhere but I’ll leave that to someone else.

Some of us are just risk-takers. Me, I’ve never personally met Hypnotoad, but I’m willing to take a chance tha… ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!
