who is the flute player

Who plays the flute at the following site:

http://irishflute.podbean.com/

A great source of tunes.

Michael

michael c

I emailed him to try to get his name and never heard from him. I would like to attribute all the stuff I downloaded and put in my iPod to him. Guess I’ll just have to go with “Michael C”, huh? The link above doesn’t have his name, either!

Pat

It’s Michael Clarkson, and a brilliant flute player he is.

so much for investigative journalism, eh?

Thanks. I like his style of playing.

Michael

so he is…

previously outed by that Harry feller, here

ya know, Brad, I coulda drug this out for a couple more days…

michael is very interesting person, excellent player with great sense for humor ( as lot of people from belfast). i had privilege to be in his company almost 6 days in one irish festival in italy. he is very humble guy with big knowledge of irish tunes.
also, excellent fiddle player…
for me ,most suprising part of festival was when paul o’shaughnnesy and martin dowling invited michael to join to they in fiddle set.
he did, and he keep pace with paul and martin all the time ,although as he latter told me he didn’t play fiddle for couple of years… ’ i know that i have fiddle in my house , but i still couldn’t find it … he said to me.
michael know a lot of donegal tunes, because he visit donegal often in his youth and learn direct from old players as con cassidy, john doherty.
just to add that he published excellent cd ’ far set’ ten years ago.

Lovely playing, indeed. I bought the Michael Clarkson CD several years ago and love it. He plays in the strong northern style associated with Harry Bradley etc.

I’m new to Mac computers, how do I download these clips to my Mac? Anyone know?
Cheers,
JeffS

option+click on the “audio mp3” icon. alternatively ctrl+click should show a popup menu; click on “download linked file”.

hth,

I’m not sure what clips your talking about, but try Option-clicking

Michael is my true love. I aspire to play just like him, but am sadly lacking thus far.
But I am a patient person.

And I am spending far less time on these forums and far more time practicing my “one” flute, as has been recommended umpteen times in the past.

Look out

That did the trick. Thanks!
