Hi,
Does anyone have the sheet music (wahtever the notation system) or a link to it for those tunes ?
Or maybe those tunes have alternate names that could guide my search…
Many thanks.
Pascal.

What is the source of those tunes - the performer, recording, etc. ?
Someone mentionned it to me, but oculd not provide a recording or anything. I just know that it’s a reel. Apparently, it once appeared in result from a search on thesession.
Sorry I can’t provide any more information.
Hi hydromel89

Inquiring minds want to know…where is A2 OR A6 used in that tune??? I don’t see it anywhere. So, what does the note mean??? ![]()
Hi David
Thank you so much for this very valuable information to me…
I figured out the yiddish version had a very far connection to the one I was looking for ![]()
To be complete about my story, a friend wants us to include it in a (local made) set with Toss the Feather. He had played it with a band a while ago, but we could not find a recording or a sheet music with that name.
Again, thank you very much.
Cheers,
Pascal.
Here are examples of the bands called Beyond the Pale
Beyond the Pale - Austrian band
Beyond the Pale - Toronto band (the Yiddish one)
It looks that there are 4 bands called Beyond the Pale not 3 ![]()
Beyond the Pale - English band
David
Hi everyone,
I am the one who initially asked about the two tunes.
So thanks for the White Lightning abc file. It’s the right one !
Beyond the Pale is a jig that appears in Ron Kavana’s song Home Fire. I’m looking for an abc version but I can’t find one anywhere on the web.
Mickael
Hi Mickael,
Glad you joined the party ! Isn’t that board fantastic ?
Pascal.
Incidentally, the expression “Beyond the Pale” is indubitably Irish; its a reference to the land e beyond the boundary of the Norman-ruled enclave around Dublin, called ‘The Pale’ (‘pale’ = ‘fence’ or ‘stockade’; cf ‘empaled’).

Beyond the Pale was beyond civilization and beyond the rule of (english, ie Norman) law.
“Beyond the Pale” also describes my complexion after sitting indoors far too long screwing around with the damn computer. It’s uncivilized, indeed. ![]()
Hi Mikael
Beyond the Pale is a hard one to track down - no ABCs to be found, no sheet music and only one recording on youtube Alias Acoustic Band it sounds nice on uilleann pipes.
