Whistle World Weather

It is another one of those nights where I stay up late and play a quiet whistle, and put togeather my weather forcast. So far in this part of whistle world it is going to be almost like yesterday with a little change.
We have talked about the best whistles, the greatest whistles, the best tunes…,but has anyone brought up what the best weather for playing whistle is?

In Lightning Ridge at the moment it’s 8.30pm and 39C. Not good weather for whistle playing.

Still, I look forward to getting a pic of me playing my Syn there some day.

Warm and a bit humid is good-- it keeps the condensation problem to a minimum

I haven’t had weather-related problems with my whistle presumably since it’s metal and warms up very quickly. Where I am it’s -3 F outside right now, sun shining and snow sparkling. Perfect day to be indoors practicing the whistle and looking out the window.

I agree, warm weather is good, it makes my Low D play easier… it’s very difficult to get a good upper second octave with air conditioner
I feel less diference with my high whistles, but there’s some difference indeed.

It’s 33c here right now…

If “wet” conditions doesn’t suit your whistle playing well, have you ever heard of Bergen? It’s famous for it’s endless showers…

Weell… Shreveport on a freezing cold and windy day is not high on my list! And especially when coming down with the ick of cold/flu grip!

70Fs not so hot that your hands sweat and slip, but not cold enough for the Whistle to stick to your lips. A mid range temp, I prefer sunny with some humidity, its better for the Flutes.

The weather is foggy
My whistle is cloggy.
