I just spent the last half hour or so searching the C&F archives on this topic and found very little there. The subject came up for me when I got a Serpent whistle and had to send it back because it was just too heavy. I have nerve damage in one wrist and chronic tendonitis in both elbows. I just got the Sindt D that I ordered in March, 03 and I was surprised to find it a bit heavier than I expected. Most of the Sindt’s weight is in the mouth piece which is beautifully crafted of delrin and thick brass.
My question, then, is this: is there anywhere a comparison of weights and possibly balance points of the most commonly available whistles?
