Has anyone heard of a tune called “Two Brothers” that is played on two whistles by one player? A fellow picked up two of my whistles at the festival I was at this weekend and played the first part. It involved some notes in unison and some harmony- some upper fingers across both whistles and lower ones on one. He could only remember the first part, but it looked like a neat novelty tune.
“The Pennywhistle Book” by Robin Williamson contains the tune “Two Brothers”. According to the information given it is a Civil War tune and is to be played very slowly. Its a pretty air. I have not heard of the two whistle technique and the book says nothing about it. I would be interested to learn more about the method.
Its a common tutorial and I"m sure one of our friendly online dealers carries it. Or…I could run off a copy of the tune and send it to you. Let me know! You may just want the tune and not the whole book, altho there are some good tunes in there.
