Looks very nice. Is it big enough to hold a Bb? I’m at work, and don’t really know the measurements.
I’m just starting to look into alternate whistle storage (for Low and High whistles).
I wanted something that was easy to select and replace the whistle and also wanted it to hold the complete range of whistles. Here’s what I came up with. It is holding a hi G to a Water Weasel A, and the Hammy practice flute sits in it as well, so a low D should be fine too. The chinese Tao Xun on the left however, doesn’t fit, but it sits by itself, so that’s cool 
Pretty straight-forward design. The upper and lower cross members (one faces each way) have “V” groves cut in them to locate the whistles. This also allows any size whistle to fit. Space the “V” to suit your collection.

A medium-sized, open-mouth jar works well for the smaller whistles. For larger whistles and my recorders, I use a flat board with with upright dowels stuck in it. The stand on ebay looks nice, however. It wouldn’t be hard to make, either. A larger one could hold low whistles.

I like the whistle stand on ebay a lot. It’s pretty. I’d buy one but I am broke and I already have a functioning whistle stand anyway – the plastic cube thing (like a mini-milk-crate) with holes on the side that someone posted here several months ago. Not as pretty, but it holds lotsa whistles.
I finally found the camera and took another photo so you can see the V-notches that hold the whistles.
I have made the peg type holders but found they didn’t hold the tapered whistles with small ends unless a very small dowel was used, and then the large diameter whistles would wobble and not stand straight. Plus I found trying to hit the dowel with the whistle all the time a bit fiddely. (I know, what some people won’t put up with.) I wanted something that would deal with my smallest to largest whistles equally well. And since the pupose was to display the whistles, I wanted the rack to hide as little as possible.
If you would like a full-size pattern, just let me know. You can change the length to suit the size of your collection or the width of your shelf.

I have the EBay stand. It came yesterday and holds more than you’d think given the description and picture. It not only holds all my soprano D whistles, but will also hold my Burke mezzo soprano A, my Sindt mezzo soprano A, my Burke alto G, and will also hold my Copeland low D. It will not, however, hold an Overton low D or a flute. The construction and sturdiness of the stand is excellent and it looks great, too. I’m very pleased with it.
