Whistle sale! ... Done!

Time to find good homes for some whistles I don’t play anymore and thin the herd a bit. Continental U.S. only, please. All prices include priority shipping within the continental U.S. Money order or cashier check. Please PM if interested.

L-R (Photo):
Dixon Poly Tunable C. New condition, nice player, woody tone. I read somewhere that Tony is no longer making these. Moderate volume. $45 SOLD

Reyburn tunable brass C with maple head. I’ve had this one for a few years and it has an interesting, unique tone…breathy and a bit gritty, which is the hallmark of Ronaldo’s wood heads. The tube was slightly bent at the A hole but repaired and is fine. Nice player and an interesting whistle. Moderate volume. $65 WITHDRAWN

Harper Classic C. Excellent condition, nice round full tone, very easy player. Very accurate. Moderate volume. $85 SOLD

Dixon Trad D with extra head (not shown). New condition. $25 SOLD

Busman Blackwood D. Made in 2005. Recently revoiced by Paul Busman to strengthen the low end and given a complete checkup. Easy player with a beautiful woody tone and sweet high end. Moderate volume. Very accurate. Hey…it’s a Busman! Comes with soft pouch. $200 SOLD

Overton D. Made by Colin Goldie in May, 2003. This is the Overton from the YouTube Doc Jones Overton vs Burke composite comparison and one of the nicer, easier playing Overton high Ds I’ve played. This one sings. Nice condition with normal wear around the holes. As with all Overtons, it needs to be completely warmed up to play in tune. Comes with soft pouch. Moderate-plus volume. $165 SOLD

Reyburn Session D. New condition. This is one of the louder whistles I’ve played with a round trad tone, very strong low end and bell note. Comes with soft pouch. Loud. $145 SOLD

Sure is aggravating the ability to edit runs out after a only few days and can’t edit the original post. :swear:

I’ve got a Reyburn Session D, and it is a fabulous whistle. Great tone and powerful to play anywhere. Plus it has an extra strong tunable brass body, much thicker than your standard Generation or Burke brass D whistle, so it can be sat on, a quality to be appreciated for an out-and-about whistle! It is my take-anywhere whistle right now, and has a permanent place in my go-out bag. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the testimonial, Hans. Yes, it’s certainly a stealth whistle. I’d forgotten I’d done a quick review after first receiving it, so here’s that review: https://forums.chiffandfipple.com/t/reyburn-session-d-quick-overview-of-an-excellent-whistle/56720/1 After re-reading it, all comments still hold true except the one about response. After becoming more familiar with the whistle, I’d update response to above average.

As Hans says, this is a fabulous whistle…and in new condition at a good price.

UPDATE: The Dixon Poly C has been sold.

REMAINING:

Thanks to all! And my thanks to MTGuru for continuing to update the original post.

UPDATE: All whistles have been sold except the Reyburn C which I’ll hang onto since it’s a nice whistle with a unique tone that I can probably use along the way. Thanks to all who checked out the sale, and especially those who purchased these fine whistles. Nice to know they have good homes.
