Folks,
my favourite whistle is a Sindt ‘A’. I believe that is the lowest
key for which he makes whistles so I’d like to solicit recommendations
from youse mob as to what ‘G’ and ‘F’ whistles by other makers would
be most akin to the pure sweet tone of the Sindt. Preferably, it would
be built by a maker who does not have a waiting list quite as long as
Sindt.

Gary Humphrey sells a low G whistle for $115.00. You probaly couldn’t find a whistle closer to a Sindt than a Humphrey. He’s under “High End Whistles” on the main C&F page. There’s a link to his web site. Check it out.
that’s funny, colin goldie, the maker of overton whistles, also uses/used that same avatar. 
… sheep remind me of the times I drove down from Edinburgh to visit
family in Peebles, Innerleithen and Traquair… back in the old days,
when men were men, and sheep were nervous.
