Hello, I’m trying to figure what brand of whistle is this: http://www.tinwhistler.net/tin-whistle/loftr.mp3
I still think it’s a copeland and I’d love to have one with this marvellous tone, but the problem it’s that I don’t know if it’s low, and what key it’s tune in, can it a D copeland?
I post this thread because maybe some has this same whistle and will surely recognize the the tone. you’re the best guys!,bythe way, did you ever hear this great theme?, do you know what movie is it?, bah! c’mon it was easy!
There’s a photo of a Copeland low A in the photo gallery on that website… pretty safe bet that’s the whistle used to record the tune.
It can also be played on a high D or a low G… but the tone sounds a bit too resonant to be a high D, and there’s no low G pictured in the photo gallery.
That’s funny. That’s the site that got me interested in the tin whistle in the first place–and it was those images that did a lot of it, making me realize that it might be more than a toy.
I originally went to that site to look at his article on rechargeable 123 batteries at http://www.tinwhistler.net/flashlights/123-rechargeables.htm and made the mistake of clicking on the tin whistle link. After the pictures, the worst thing was the link to C&F, where I became infected with WhOA.
Actually, I can play along with what’s there on a high D whistle. does it eventually go lower? (At least, I think I’m playing along with it.)
You’re absolutely right, and it can also be played on a low G… I’ll edit my above post to correct it.
I was play testing a low A whistle I had just completed while browsing the forum last night, and was too quick to jump to conclusions when I could play along with the tune on that whistle.
Woah, you guys can actually tell what kind of whistle it is! I just know it sounds bad if my whistle squeaks!
I also know that the tune is from lord of the rings!
