Whistle Pendants, Earrings, and Keyrings for Charity :)

Ok, here’s the deal. I made a sterling silver whistle pendant/keyring/earring thingie for C&F (see pictures below). The key is high high high high d (just kidding, it’s not actually playable). Hee. If you want to receive it by Christmas, hurry up and order. I will have the pieces available for shipping about a month from now, and I would like to know how many to have made. After I recover my costs of having it reproduced, I will keep one third of the profit, give one third to the cause of Dale’s choice, and one third to Loren because he has encouraged me quite a bit about doing this.

All materials (except, obviously, the black cord) are solid sterling silver. The piece is about two inches long including the ring at the top. Insured shipping within the US will be $4. Inquire about shipping to other countries. Prices are as follows:

Pendant on your choice of 16" or 18" snake chain, $24

Pendant on black cord, $19

Keyring, $24

Earrings, $38

Please contact me at the e-mail link below to order. You can pay by credit card (I can get the number over the phone or in a couple of separate e-mails, for safety). Wholesale orders are welcome (suggested minimum wholesale order amount is $200). Wholesale prices are 50% of retail prices.

Thanks…

Original text from this post:

I just saw that Beth was selling a Copeland whistle pendant and I was pleased to see that someone bought it quickly, because I designed it (fabricated the original) and it makes me feel good that people seem to like them. I also did an O’Riordan whistle for Pat, so if anyone wants a pendant or earrings that look like O’Riordan whistles, you can contact him about it. I also did another different (generic whistle) one for Thom at The Whistle Shop. I may do some specific designs for some other whistle makers, too.

The point of this post is to ask if there is any interest in a “C&F Whistle Pendant”. If there is, I would design (fabricate) one and submit pictures so people could order it. I would take one third of the profit, give one third to the charity of Dale’s choice, and one third to Loren for nagging me for so long about making this thing.

In any case, please let me know if there is interest. Thanks.

I’d love to see some pictures! I’m a professional window-shopper, and can drop some pretty heavy hints on my husband!

Christmas is coming up!

I agree; I’d have to see the design (and price, sorry, reality bites). I’m not a big pendant wearer, what with the boy being a grabber (my 1 year old) but I loved the whistles. I’d also be interested… and I’m just blue-skying right now… in a miniature whistle figure like the flutes and guitars and others you see, with their own tiny cases. But I don’t know what’s involved in such an animal.

I would be interested, esp if you can actually PLAY these little whistles. Strictly for decoration might be cool too.

They will not be playable. They’ll be about an inch and a half long, and they’ll be available as a pendant (on a chain or black cord) or on a silver key ring. I’ll go out to the studio and come up with something…

I’m not big into pendants but would snatch up a keyring in a second!

Ooh, a pendant! I’d be very interested, Jessie! Now if there was only some way for you to make a ring…

I bought one of the first ones for my wife way back when and might be interested, but the question occurs as to how we’d be able to tell it was a C&F whistle.

What’d be neat would be a whistle set slantwise across a circle - possibly with the circle’s diameter being somewhat less than the length of the whistle.

A C&F pendant with a large enough bail which would allow it to be used as a watch fob or keyring fob would be very interesting…

It’s a shame I am perpetually broke, those little whistles are magnificent!

Cute work Jess! May hafta get one of those. It also gave me the idea to try to make a mini-wooden whistle with brass fittings ( in my so-called spare time).
Years ago, Von Huene, maker of most excellent wooden recorders used to sell mini wooden recorders. They were about2 1/2 inches long, complete with ornate Baroque turnings, and they actually played! They made a tiny, high pitched sound, and covering the fingerholes altered the pitch. Natch, you couldn’t play tunes on them, but they were VERY cool. I had one, but unfortunately over the years it has vanished.

I’ll be away for the weekend (and most weekends) and will probably not have access to my e-mail before Sunday night, but you are welcome to keep the orders coming. Thanks.

Perhaps this is a dumb question, but is the necklace pendant the bottom picture, or the top one?

They look the same to me.

Smart people are entitled to dumb questions! They are all pictures of the same piece. In the top picture it is shown as a pendant on a chain. In the middle one it’s shown on a keyring. The bottom one shows the side view and the shape of the back of the mouthpiece.

Bumping this to the top for Charity  (Dale has picked one by the way, look for details in the next C&F newsletter)
