I just read this in on our newspaper and was glad you had this article that included sound samples. Not quite was I expected to hear.

This is either:
a) An expert musicologist recreating the the haunting sounds of the Aztec Whistles of Death.
– or –
b) A beginning Chiffer attempting to play “The Bucks of Oranmore” on a typical off-the-rack Generation D.
Blood-curdling in either case!! ![]()

Pretty cool, I’ll admit.
But, personally, I think I’ll wait till someone comes out with a Low Whistle of Death; that’s just more to my liking. Preferably, in PVC tube – these boutique death whistles have their place, sure, but what about the everyman who wants to hear and create the sound of death?
We’ll never know how close those sounds are.
Very cool regardless.
Creepy stuff. Imagine hearing one of those outside at night.
Here’s my “Dethwhistle”. Its my Howard Low D with a Dethklok sticker(watch Metalocalypse and you’ll understand).

Brutal.
and who says Irish music has to be friendly and fun? Dark and brooding works for me.
Creepy stuff. Imagine hearing one of those outside at night.
That would be fun.
Those whistles were pretty awesome.
