Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone out there knows of a maker/seller of wooden box type cases for whistles. Just wondering how much they would charge and or if it would be cheaper to just make it myself. Thanks for whatever you guys come up with.

no it’s not for the busman, my friend has a Rose, and he was wanting a case for it. I thought it would make a nice birthday present. But i like the little case that the busman came with.

For a cheaper, but less attractive alternative, check out your local gun shop for inexpensive plastic pistol cases. They have a foam egg crate liner and will hold several whistles very safely.
NOTE-- do NOT seal damp wooden whistles in these or any other cases. They will not allow moisture in the whistle to evaporate. If you use these to transport whistles to sessions etc, bring them home and open the case to let the whistles dry out.
so when your transporting your whisltes on an airplane or into a pub they don’t freak out when your carrying a case that says Smith & Wesson on the side??? 
But really, that’s a good idea too, those things are pretty durable, and i already have a couple. But i was looking for something for a friend’s B-day, so i don’t think he’d like getting a gun case for a whistle. Plus i really liked the before mentioned multiple whistle case, i think i’m going to go with that. But thanks for the idea.

Hi,
I’ve heard pool cue cases might be good. So I went into a billiards store to check out some cue cases. I didn’t find one I like but something else there caught my eye- poker chip cases! They had a nice 1000 chip executive aluminum which measures about 22x15x2 inches. They are strong and lightweight. On ebay they go for about $25.00. Has anyone tried one of these cases yet?

I haven’t tried a poker chip case, but it sounds like a clever idea. I did take a poster mail tube, lined the inside (on the sides and the ends) with a thin sheet of foam and then felt to provide padding. On the outside, I used (colored, not your average black 
) electrical tape to cover it. I thought the blue, green, and yellow stripes were “pretty”…until I went out in public with it. 
Oh well, at least I’ll always know where it is!!
