Which tutorial

I need some help deciding which tutorial to start with. I’ve got a pretty good grip on basic tone and playing technique (glottals, slurring & jumping octaves etc) but need desperate help with developing a better sense of the ‘drive’ that puts it all together in a more traditional sense. So basically my rhythm stinks and I want to work on it. I’m going to be traveling a lot for work over the next couple years, so regular lessons are out of the questions for the time being (though once I get some of the basic tunes down, I’ll try to find sessions where I can to sit in on).

I am leaning towards Gray Larsen - but he has 2 and I don’t know which would be best to start with. But that is solely because I like his playing - perhaps someone else could point me in a better direction.

And yes, I want to stick to just one for now, because I try to live out of carry-on luggage, and space can be at a premium .

Thanks Much!
Dave

From your description of your playing, I would think Scoiltrad lessons from Conal O’Grada would serve you better than a tutorial.

That said, I have the Larsen book, and it is a great resource. But a book can’t hear you play and then direct you on how to improve; Conal can.
