I’m glad that the company have gone home.
Had Mrs. D’s two sons and their girlfriends over and can those two dudes argue. Thge funny thing is that they are both lovely guys on their own but when you get the two of them together all hell breaks out. At one stage of the evening I had to stand up and inform them that should they choose to start something I would soon finish it, and I can be very persuasive when I need to be
I have never understood this thing between them as I have no brothers. I have seen my sisters exchanging words but never with that kind of vehemence and hostility.
Not to worry, Jackson Brown is on the headphones and the bottle of dark jamaican rum is half full…plenty of ice left and enough snacks to open a shop.
Enjoy the rest of your day my friends, I certainly will.
Great album, of this I am certain. I like 'em all… up to Lawyers in Love. That was the last ablum I bought, I liked it but have yet to be able to listen to the later stuff.
Give that man a big cigar…and another one to the lovely Dixie…
Great album from a great writer.
Ran from that one into “Running on empty”..got from there into “Desperado” and from there I’m thinking about Gilian Walsh and a good slice of Emmy Lou.
Meself, and a few more of the regular mob around here, never saw it any other way. People are people, wether they are left or right or white or black or gay or straight.
I like to think that those days are long over..I was just saying to a friend of mine recently that if Oscar Wilde was around today he would have his own TV show..not to mention a few million viewers.
It’s copied and incorporated behavior, Dubh. Hard thing to escape if you grew up with an unfortunate example.
Brothers can get along perfectly well.
Sadly, in my husband’s family there is one brother (of 4 bros, 1 sis,) who stopped participating in family stuff due to grievances which exist only in his own head, and about which no one else is willing to engage him in debate. Everyone feels the loss of him and his family, but no one can fix him so he doesn’t yell at everybody else, so mutual avoidance is practiced.
Geez, I’d be even MORE worried about him, listening to Jackson Browne.
Seriously, Dubh, I have four siblings and still don’t understand the whole arguing thing either. Even in extended family gatherings, which number between 30 and 150, I think the last really cross word was spoken about 30 years ago. I know, I’m lucky.
The boys father was a very violent man who put their Mother in hospitable on a few occasions. They were only toddlers then but they saw it all going down.
Funny thing is that they have never raised a voice against their girlfriends or their mother. They are both totally cool and gentle when they are on their own but get both of them in the same room and it gets pretty hectic, pretty fast.
They’ve both been on the phone over the past hour or so with big apologies which just proves that once they are apart they’re fine.
