Where to get CD's?

I am trying to get a hold of some irish traditional cd’s. Especially Kevin Burke, since I really like his playing in the Bothy Band songs I’ve heard.

I live in Sweden, but no web-based or physical shop seems to have much irish music at all. Is it eBay/Amazon that is the only option?

Thanks in advance

Thank you, they seem to have a quite large stock of cd’s.
Sadly though, “If the cap fits” isn’t one of them, guess I’ll have to try and find that somewhere else.

Sorry I overooked the Kevin Burke bit.

Mulligan records has been taken over by a company in Nashville, Compass records. They are re-releasing long out of stock items from the Mulligan catalogue, including If the Cap fits. You can order it direct from them.

There’s loads of on-line CD shops that sell ITM. Here’s a couple more from what has already been listed:

Claddagh</A](http://www.claddaghrecords.com/WWW/default.asp">Claddagh</A)>
CIC</A](http://www.cic.ie/index_english.asp">CIC</A)>

Also, some of the ITM labels sell direct on the web:

Tara</A](http://www.taramusic.com/">Tara</A)>
Green](http://www.greenlinnet.com/#%22%3EGreen) Linnet
Shanachie</A](http://www.shanachie.com/">Shanachie</A)>
Gael](http://www.gael-linn.ie/glinn/Music.aspx%22%3EGael) Linn

There’s tons more, but these will give you a place to start, at least.

www.celticgrooves.com is very good, too.

I suspect it might get expensive with three-way shipping and all, but perhaps Philippe (the owner and a fine and knowledgeable fiddler himself) has a system.

Aha, that’s the where Mulligan went. Look, and there’s Tayberry! Yeah! AND, their free trad mp3 of the week just happens to be Burke’s and Jackie Daly’s Blackbird… cool! Thanks, Peter!

I’ll second that suggestion Cathy…
Phillipe Varlet is a very helpful bloke and all my dealings with him have been good …
He has a vast range of CD’s…DVD’s too…

There’s also the mp3 option, though you don’t get liner notes and all.

Emusic has quite a bit of Kevin Burke, for example.

Since I don’t want to order from the US, I have bought the cd through this service after reading your post. Seems to be a great site, with an alternative focus and many small labels. And it’s nice not to have to resort to piracy, when it comes to talented musicians like Burke, who clearly deserve the money for his work.

I’ve had very positive experiences with http://www.ossianusa.com/ .
