Where to get a box?

No, not the kind with reeds in it. I’m tying to find a place to cheaply get a box big enough to ship a tenor banjo and case. I contacted the local guitar shop to see if they have any they don’t need, but they’ve not responded yet.
I’d like to post my banjo in the exchange soon, but don’t want to until I know I have a box to ship it in.

In related news, if you’re in the market for a Gold Tone IT-250R, let me know. Once I can procure a box, I’ll be looking to either sell or trade for an oval-hole mandolin or flute of equal monetary value.

Troll. And here I was all ready to abracadabra this thread to another forum.

Shipping banjos. That has to be illegal, right? Think of the children.

Looks like I might have found one thanks to Facebook. And people say social networking has no value…

Yeah, if you’re willing to join the “Cardboard Boxes” group and receive hourly updates. “Just got my new box. OMG, it’s corrugated!!”

Seriously, at the music store we used to throw away dozens of guitar boxes every week. If there’s a Guitar Center or the like nearby, just show up and ask, and ye shall receive.

I raid the dumpster at the local music store. Actually I ask first. Or the bike shop. Bike boxes can be easily cut down to size.
