'Twas this gentle remark got me thinking about those who have slipped under the radar for whatever reason.

HmmâŚI was going to post a couple; when I considered the Horrible People category, for some reason Idi Amin came to mind, and there was someone else, so forgettable Iâve already forgotten. Then I realized that the internet has made the whole âwhere are they nowâ question nearly obsolete, itâs so easy to answer. The internet is spectacularly useful, and I wouldnât want to be without it, but it does take some of the poignant mystery out of life. Maybe it would be fun to try to find someone who was once famous but has now somehow managed to vanish so thoroughly that even Google canât find him.

I got the answer for Dave Allen on last nightâs news. He was retired but planning a comeback. His wife was about 7 months pregnant when he died. Hardly scandalous but still interesting, at least to me.
