Has anyone been in contact with Glenn Schultz recently? Is he okay?
I’ve had a d water weasel on order from The Whistle Shop since early February. Thom Larson says he hasn’t heard from Glenn in some time and doesn’t know when he will be getting more water weasels in.
I e-mailed Glenn and got no response, and I called him (twice) and no one picks up the phone.
Does anyone know what’s up, and what kind of a backlog there is for water weasels these days?

I got an e-mail from the Weasel this morning about some interesting new wood I just heard about. It was a short message ( as usual) but he sounded OK. Glenn is not an e-mail addict like many of us, so I don’t think he goes online terribly often ( if you can imagine such a thing). Keep trying.
I spoke with Glenn yesterday a couple of times. He’s OK, but will probably always struggle against the smoking induced emphysema-like bouts that plague him.
He’s coming over to Windsor tonight for a visit, so I’ll mention this thread to him.
Thanks. I’ll try to be patient. I knew he has had some health problems, so it’s good to hear he’s okay.

I’d say, don’t rely on email to communicate with him. Call the number on his Web site. I called yesterday and told him that i had sent him some email, so he said he’d check, and he did. He told me he “doesn’t check his email every day.” So probaby a good strategy is to email him and follow up with a call the next day or so. He seemed to be an extremely nice guy.

i had ordered a D waterweasel back in dec and i just got it now. that is his current timescale. have fun. i got mine from the house of musical traditions in my neighborhood- they ordered from him.
how do i like my water weasel? i do, but i am a sucker for plastic whistles (my other favorite is the tunable dixon D for 21 bucks, the greatest bargain in the whistle world). my D waterweasel has a very sweet lower register and a more airy high register- the higher register calls for more breath control and more precise placement of the lips on the fipple than the dixon does, but the sound is worth it.
