What's Happened To The NPU Site?

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering what has happend to the NPU site? I’ve checked their site and it seems that it’s not online for some reason (have they moved their address). I was hoping I could contact them and see if there happend to be anything on while I was in Dublin (in August). Get a few lessons etc. If you now where the new address is or if anyone has there contact details. Can you please let me know.

Is working right now … might be that they have (again) some problems with their server. There was some discussion on this some time ago … or was this just on the UP mailing list ?

It’s up but the “Tune of the Month” produces bad html.

I guess it’s better than seeing the same old tune that had been up there for about a year.

Hi me again,

It seems as if the NPU doesn’t have any big tutoring avents while I’m in Dublin :sniffle:. However can they organize (if your coming especially) for someone to be there as a tutor. I wont be brining the half set (if I get one before we go). The instrument being rather valuable, it’s probably not wise idea to cart it around with you over Europe (customs might complain etc). This means that the tutor would have to bring a spare half set.

Would NPU be willing to help organize that?

Why are you asking here? NPU should be who you are asking. They have practise sets for loan, sometimes. You would have to organize with them, or ask them for a contact of someone who would be willing to sit with you during your time there.

You can phone up NPU - 353-1-873-0093 - and run your situation by Mary Walsh. She can refer you and/or assist you. August shuts down for lessons, like it does all over the world. What supplants the weekly lesson is the weekend festival but they do not have super close-up focus on lessons most often.

However, if you wanted a private lesson (or series of lessons) in Dublin or elsewhere, that is extremely possible. For the lesson, you would not need a half set but only a practice set.

Both Galway and Dublin are two locales where you could find private tuition.
