Ryan MacNeil of the Cape Breton band Beolach is playing an aluminum whistle with what appears to be a clear mouthpiece. The low whistle he plays later in the tune appears to have a clear mouthpiece as well. He starts playing at 9:48.

Seems like there was a post a while back about whistles with clear mouthpieces but I don’t remember who makes them.

Ryan J.‘s (gotta be careful; there are two Cape Breton Rayan Macneil musicians) whistles are lovely; I’m liking my low D more every day. Now I’m in the process of convincing myself I need an Eb…partly cuz…I just got Julie Fowlis’ two cds. Small world eh?

I sent him an email a couple of days ago, haven’t had a reply…but I checked the Beolach website, and they are at Celtic Connections in Glasgow from Jan 13-18, so if your email was recent, he may be away.
