What;'s the best whistle for...

a jazzy “Summertime?” Kinda of like the B flat. When I play it on the D whistle is it really in B?

Let it shine!

Hi,

Do you mean B minor? If you mean B, whistlers do have a hard time playing D#, G#, and A#, on a D Whistle. Other than that, I have no idea what you are asking.

Many female vocalists like Am for this tune as do many guitarists and a low G will sound good. For sheer good tonality ,a good Eb whistle sounds best to my ear or a Low or high F  Mike

It’s easy to do in both Am or Bm using a D whistle. I just tried it on my low D. Kewl. I’ve always loved that tune; I play it all the time on my Chapman Stick.

I meant I liked it on a B flat whistle and meant B minor key on a D whistle…sorry…when I play with guitarists and other musicians, I have to play their keys rather than the other way around. It’s easy as pie on a D whistle, but the rest are pretty tough.
