I played along on my Goldie D i just got in the mail :slight_smile:
A long time ago i had the ‘Dulaman’ album on cassette and if i remember right, a lot of the songs required a C whistle adjusted “out of tune” to play along.

It sounds like the whole tune is in the upper register of the whistle, including the third octave D. Is that correct?

Quick play and response along with my Oak seems to fit it in the second register quite well. The third register D was present around 0:50. Around 1:40 it seems to settle into the first register for a while. Like the way the natural dynamics of the whistle’s registers seem to go with the tune.

Funny thing is that whistle isn’t listed as an instrument used on the album except for perhaps under the general flute category.

Mostly up top at first, then as Steve says, flipping between the two registers later on. And on those high high Ds, you can hear the player tongue the note slightly to goose it over the break cleanly.
