What Disney did to Winnie the Pooh...

besides steal really good songs like “Charlie is my Darling,” was to just macerate the charm of the orginal A.A. Milne. Does anybody here remember that old 78 RPM record with that charming “Hush, hush, whisper who dares, Christoper Robin is saying his prayers?” song and Alice going down to Buckingham Palace? I know my age is showing, but is I can find anything on this, I would love to have it, just to get some CHARM back!

Hi Anna -

Hi, avanutria, actually, I decided I wanted the old 78 RPM record, to use it for skeet shooting, basically to get even with it for tearing off my big toe nail when I was six! Not all of us had Winnie the Pooh childhoods. BTW, didja hear the one about the kindergarten teacher and her class…she asked the kids to describe what they did on their vacations…one little girl said she went on a choo-choo ride with her granny, and the teacher told her she had to use the word “train” not choo-choo. Then a little biy spoke up and said he went to his na-na’s house and played with her doggie, and the teacher told him must must use the terms “Grandmother” and “dog.” Finally one little guy was raising his hand and when the teacher pointed to him, he proudly stuck out his chest and said “I read ‘Winnie the Sh*t’ this summer!”
