What Are You Listening To Now?

Sure, PM me your address.

I received a copy of The Southwest Wind by Ronan Browne and Peadar O’Loughlin for a Christmas gift, so I’ve been listening to that a lot lately. Great stuff!

Other than that, my favorite recording is a homemade one from the concert at the So Cal tionol this year. I’ve had the Kitty Lie Over CD for a while, and I love it, but there’s something about a live recording that makes me keep listening over and over again. Or maybe it’s Patrick and Kynch playing pipes and concertina duets that draws me back to it…

Justine… Gwen Stefani? I wouldn’t have expected that from you!

Umm hmm… you and me baybee  No guilt here though… rarr… I said… RAAARRRRrrrrrrrrrr…

PD.

Are you listening to the music or just looking at the pictures?
Hey Patrick, I met someone who knows you last week…John Butler from Dublin. Seems like there’s a lot of pipers in Dublin these days.

Long Grazing Acre is one of my favourites. A couple of minutes ago i was listening to Shake the Blossom Early. Some piping in there. And earlier today, to the Border Collies unleashed. Woof!

Something in my 12 GB oggvorbis jukebox, I am too lazy to switch over to the desktop with xmms running to see what it is, but it sounds like Dickie Deegan just now…

Let us contemplate the lyrics of the 62nd bar of her latest hit shall we: “Uh, eee, uh, huh, eee, uh…” fecking deadly! I do like her “stuff” though

Laurence Nugent - The Windy Gap
Bothy Band - Out of the Wind and into the Sun
Grieg - Piano Concerto in A minor op. 16

Well…I know that Keenan is still doing that kind of stuff. Every time someone Paddy is playing wants to do a song…he makes sure to add his touch.
I recall a great version of ‘True Love Knows no Season’ from a gig he did in Montreal.

Cheers

And how do the lyrics to that particular arranged ballad go?

Kittie Lie Over
Fort of the Jewels
The Nervous Man
An Tobar Gle
Mary MacNamara’s first one

Beyond Irish traditional music…some Greg Brown, Jez Lowe, Kate Campbell, Iris Dement, Gillian Welch, Jonathan Richman, Belle and Sebastian, Paolo Conte, John Lee Hooker, and Ali Farka Toure…to name a few.

No, you are ok for the mo’. Gabriel lives in a village called Box, which is next to Bath, where Solsbury Hill is. And from that, you can probably narrow down roughly where I live.

Oh, I’m listening to the Tony Hawk Pro Skate 2 Soundtrack right now. :stuck_out_tongue:
