I know Jim Mc is going to be there, I’m wondering who else’ll be around. I’ll be there on Saturday.

Here’s a tune I wrote two or so years ago that I named after the muster. Well after the bell that rings every hour (yes it tolls at 3am 4am etc) with each ring I knew I was losing sleep that can’t be made up for, but then again when you having that much fun who cares?

It’s a single reel, alot more irish soundnig than it is fife & drummy.

Boy, now I’ve seen it all. The town of Westbrook mentioned in a worldwide community. We used to make fun of it growing up because it’s so tiny, but now they have outlet stores and I guess a good-sized muster.

Tyg, isn’t there a muster EVERY weekend in CT? :slight_smile: Musters are just one of the things I miss about not living there anymore. You might also want to check out the Great Connecticut Traditional Jazz Festival; it’s the first weekend in August. It used to be in Moodus, but I think it’s moved to Madison or Guilford. I have a blast everytime I go, which is once every 2-4 years. You think Irish music is fun? Dixieland certainly gives it a run for the money.

I’d really like to; have been to the Deep River Muster a couple of times where our Corps performed in the “Competition” - quite an experience! And then those massive “Jams” where the drums hammer 'till the earthworms come outta the ground!
I love it!

Reality is, I probably won’t make it to Westbrook, competing domestic agendae and all.
but sure hope to some time. Have fun!
