Well there I was...

..going along on my bike and I saw this.

I was lucky not to fall off the thing and get mangled by the bus that was behind me.

Funny old world

Slan,
D.

Bizzzaaarrreee!

  1. “Oh, God! The wife’s home. What should we do with these?”

  2. “Quick, hide them out the window. She’ll never notice.”

you were riding your bike on Bourbon Street???
(that would fit right in there…)

You mean defenestrate them?

Well, it kind of reminds me of this little thing in which God molests David. At first I was horrified because God molesting David seems like a very upsetting thing, but as a friend pointed out to me, “If God made it, he can touch it.” :astonished:

Those headless dummies really creep me out.

What about the fact that they have no arms?

That’s relatively armless.

I remember my first mannequin, her name was mistress green. I’ll try to post a picture of her later.

My sentiments precisely. But I prefer legless.

Perhaps they represent some variant of the preying mantis, where the female, rather than the male, loses her head.
Or maybe they were reenacting the Black Knight scene from Monty Python.
Regardless, it undoubtedly adds a quaint artistic aura to the neighborhood.
I’m wondering what else they have in there. It looks a little cluttered behind the curtains in those upstairs window.

Cran, that is the funniest thing you have ever posted!

djm

It has just occured to me that is to be hoped that he (are we assuming it is a he ?)has his artistic endeavour well anchored… imagine leaving the pub well oiled on a friday night and coming across one of those laid in the gutter!!!

Just so long as it’s not getting laid in the gutter…

So how many other people have read the title of this thread and immediately have the music turn on in your brain “do wha diddy diddy dum diddy doh”?

Ok, in the song it’s “there SHE was” but still . . . .

We have a couple of used clothing stores that use headless and armless dummies outside to advertise. It does creep me out.

Not likely at this time of the year in England!
