I am thinking of a fish that lives in the ocean (I think) and is flat and looks like a pancake, sort of. I can’t remember much more about it, but I think it was grey or blue-ish colored and rather large. I can’t find the name of it for the life of me.
I thought of a flouder too at first, but that’s not it. And sand dollars are not fish. When I did my google search I kept getting lots of sites with flounders, too. The fish I’m thinking of is bigger and looks weirder, almost not like a fish but a dinosaur or something.
Maybe it’s a prehistoric fish that doesn’t exist anymore. I can’t remember where I saw the picture…but I can still see it in my mind and I don’t know what it’s called. It’s slightly frustrating.
Flatfish are flat in a different way. Let me try to describe it. Ok, imagine that a flatfish is a coin. Now turn the coin on its side, magnify it a hundred times, and paint it blueish grey. That’s the animal I’m talking about. I’m beginning to think it wasn’t a fish at all but some kind of reptile or other extinct creature. I can see it in my head, and I see tuna and other recognizable fish with it in the same picture (the reason I believe it’s a saltwater fish).
