Seems to help me a good bid while playing. There might be some subconscious coordination between hands&feet or whatever, it works for me

Yup – and toes are useful for closing the lower keys 
Barefoot is good when you are on a concrete or sturdy tile floor because you get a much more satisfying slap noise when tapping your foot. Shoes (or sandals) are better if you are on a wood floor or stage or anything with a nice hollow boom to it.

Playing nekkid! Not in our house you don’t…except in high summer critical bits would freeze and drop off. I have a whole wardrobe of thick socks to wear with my birki’s in winter, and the polartec is only put away from late June to late August.
