Our little community orchestra had our first fall rehearsal tonight and we’ve got some fun music for our Christmas concert. The conductor had asked us, back in the spring, to let him know if we had any recommendations for tunes/arrangements that we’d like to play. Soooo, in typical fashion, I sent him a few. He pick two of them! We will be playing selections from the Polar Express and Bach’s Sleeper’s Wake. Yipeeeeeee
It’s gonna be harder this year to decide what I’ll play on oboe and what I’ll play on timpani because the practice and lessons are starting to pay off. I was able to sight read most all of the oboe music tonight with few problems.
I’m happy for a few bright spots in the days.

ah…play the one with the best part ![]()
Sleepers Wake! I love it! I have to confess I don’t know the other one, so I might really love that too, but Sleepers Wake is wonderful. Have fun!
That’s what I have been doing in the past (or which one I can play better to improve our sound as a whole) ![]()
If you haven’t seen the Polar Express you should. The first time I saw it I was sewing and had the tv on, not really paying attention, as the movie progressed my sewing slowed down, until by the end I had forgotten all about sewing.
