Looking for a Bb flute, most likely keyless, in Boxwood or Delrin. May also consider other woods if known to be hypoallergenic.

I’ve got a Bb Grinter fully keyed I am willing to let go. The singer in my band who sang in Bb has moved away. I don’t use it enough to deserve at this point.
Loren, I have a Casey Burns Bb that I’m happy with. I’ve had it for a few years now.
It is the simplest flute that he makes. Mine is mopane.
No rings, no slide, which is fine for a Bb. It keeps the weight down.
I think a Delrin Bb would be fairly heavy in the hands.
I don’t want to sell mine, but I bet you could order one in boxwood that wouldn’t be too expensive.

Clark, I bet the Grinter is wonderful. Having some idea what they cost new though, I am guessing you’ll need far more for it than I should be spending on a Bb though. I also don’t know if/how I react to Red Lancewood, which I assume is what yours is? Now if your Bb Grinter happens to be made from Boxwood I would indeed be sorely tempted… I’ll send you a message off-line.
David, Thanks for the thoughts on the Burns Bb. I did just get some info from Casey and I am considering one of his Bb’s configured as you suggest. While I’m mulling it over though, I’m hoping a Boxwood Olwell or Wilkes Bb will come my way. A wicked long shot I know, but hey, I am part Irish and have had some of the luck before 
And yes, I agree that a Delrin Bb would be on the heavy side. Life would be a tad easier if I weren’t allergic to the Blackwood, but so it goes.

FWIW Loren I believe John Gallagher will do a dogwood Bb, he uses it often for other keys, I have one in D, and I remember talking to another forum member who said they had a Bb from him in dogwood. It would be more expensive than the Burns but IMO worth it.
I’ve got to ask: What is the current status in evaluating Tubi, Solomon Island Blackwood, Queen Ebony (Xanthostemon Melanoxylon Myrtacea). Terry made a candidate flute. I believe another maker as well. Has there been a tour?

Avery, I had forgotten that John G. does the occasional Bb. Cathy W. had one at some point with lovely engraved Ivy leaf rings didn’t she? Well I might drop John a note, although to be honest I’m not so keen on another flute made from Dogwood…
Bob, very interesting, I hadn’t really heard much about that wood although it does look good on paper. Problem I imagine is that no one likely has any of the wood that has been seasoning for 10 years yet, and certainly no one has had a flute out there for 10 years made from wood. I’m not so crazy about being the guinea pig these days, lol. Well unless the price reflects the experimental nature of the wood Still, I wasn’t aware a maker or two had fashioned and device from this wood and I’d certainly be interested in hearing how things turned out, so to speak. Looks like the wood has recently been placed on the protected list in it’s native growing zone, so supplies are likely to be very limited and I expect prices will climb accordingly.

If I remember correctly it was her who told me she had a dogwood Bb from him, don’t know about the rings though but its probably the same flute.
Cathy’s is a black wood (probably blackwood).
I don’t know that John has actually made a Bb in dogwood. He has, however, made a B in dogwood.

I am probably probably mixing the two up because I think that B flute was mentioned in the same conversation.
The flute that Zac has is awesome, we were just talking about the flute last night when I stopped by Zac’s gig. The wood looks similar to Cocuswood, it is very hard, but also very light.
Assuming that’s the newer one with keys? (I know there’s been more than one because Zac’s got a YouTube video of the keyless ‘prototype’, then Dave sent me some photos of the keyed one to show me Zac’s custom layout with R1 C and Bb and no L thumb keys because we’re thinking of doing R1 Bb and G# and thumb hole C for me.)
Edited (after re-reading the YouTube comments) to add that the keyless ‘prototype’ might have been on tour rather than specifically made for Zac?
