These three are each of the three parts, played once and at a slower pace. I suggest putting each part in winamp individually and setting it on “loop” until you’ve got it down.
Sorry Ava I’m so EVIL! I used to play this tune a LOT, all the time, with Kid on the Mountain, so it’s a fun tune to play, I just heard ot so many times. But I’m just joking really, it’s a very useful link to people who don’t know the tune.
I love that tune, one of the first I learned, from the Chieftans Long Black Veil cd where it is done slowly , with Ry Cooder supplying some great slide guitar. It’s a very haunting tune on that cd. I’d never heard it done fast till later, and did learn to combine it with Kid on the Mountain. But, for anyone wanting to learn it from scratch they might want to give this slow version a listen. I was able to learn it initially from listening to this version.

That would be my favorite session whistle, a feadog body with a Mack Hoover Whitecap PVC head. I recently bought it a very nice hard travel case, and now it’s coming to Ireland with me.
And nicely played, too. Sometimes when you get used to playing a tune with ornaments, you forget about the driving power some of these trad tunes can have when played very simply. I enjoyed it.
