Wake Up UK whistlers!

Wake up! All you whistlers within striking distance of the West Sussex area have the AMAZING opportunity on 3rd November to talk face to face with whistle makers and try out their whistles. If I wasn’t at the other end of the UK, I’d be there like a shot. But Phil Hardy, who has been organising it, has had such a poor response from whistlers that he’s wondering whether to go ahead. Check out some of the makers who are scheduled to be there at https://forums.chiffandfipple.com/t/whistle-makers-convention/82351/1 and send an e-mail to Phil saying “yes.” It should be fantastic!!! But he needs feedback.

Good luck with that, Mike. Whistlers are a notoriously sleepy lot. Just look around at your next session. That low rumble you hear is not a didgeridoo or a broken drone reed. It’s the whistlers snoring their way through The Kesh Jig and drooling on their shoes.

One of the moderators here even admits to playing in his sleep. Scandalous. But I’m not naming names.

Perhaps Phil could appear on these pages himself to tell us what is going on, maybe even just to post a link to the website.

Nice MT!

Phil sent out all the information as an e-mail which was shown in the thread I gave a link to. To my knowledge there is no web-site for the event. If you’re interested in more information why not just e-mail him at phil@kerrywhistles.com.

Thanks for letting us know. This is the first I heard of it.

However, two things.

I’m not really interested in getting new whistles. I know, sacrelage, but I feel it’s the player, not the whistle…(ducks for cover)

It’s the Return to Camden Town festival in London that weekend which I would go to if I had the chance to do anything.
